Who Is George The Bookworm?

Who Is George And Where Did He Come From?

There are bookworms all over the world and no-one really knows for sure how many. But George is a special bookworm. He grew up in The British Library in London where he read every book and now he can travel through wormholes disguised as full stops, stopping off at any place and any time to have tea with a T-Rex or play video games with a vampire!

And while George may be an unpredictable and curious creature, there is one thing you can always be certain of . . .

George LOVES BOOKS and he LOVES READING!

So if you're lucky enough to ever meet a bookworm, be sure to tell them about all the amazing books you've read and are yet to read. You'll have a friend for life!

All about Bookworms!

Have you ever seen a bookworm?

If you've ever been lucky enough to have spotted a real life bookworm, then you belong to a special group of people whose imagination extends far beyond the reaches of grown ups. You see, grown ups can't see bookworms. They are more occupied with the stranger things in life, like filling the dishwasher, tidying rooms and going to work.

But don't worry, if you haven't seen a bookworm yet, here's a few handy tips to help you on your way:

 • You will often hear a bookworm before you see one. They talk and talk and talk all day long. It’s not surprising as their heads are so full of words and stories.

Keep your ears open and listen all around you for the arrival of a bookworm.

• It is not unusual for a bookworm to wear a watermelon for a hat, or sing to a potato, or leave a trail of broken television remote controls everywhere they go. You see, bookworms don't usually live in the human world. They get all sorts of everyday things mixed up.

Keep an eye out for a little wriggly creature behaving very strangely!

• Bookworms have trouble remembering people's names. They may often call you things like Noodle, Plink Plonk or Captain Sizzle. Bookworms also get their words all jumbled up, like Barty Fum and Mider Span.

When you see a bookworm, don't forget to introduce yourself slowly and just hope they remember your name!
